Camp Sunrise Day Retreat 2021

For all current and upcoming 6th – 8th graders! This retreat day is for you!

This retreat day will be in lieu of our last class Sunday, May 16th.


Saturday, May 15 Camp Sunrise Day retreat! Open to all upcoming and current 6th - 8th grades.

Cost $30. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Retreat Center.

  • 7:30am - Arrive at Holy Family. Meet by the flag pole to get temperature check and get ready to travel in car caravan.

  • 7:45-7:50am – Welcome. Ground rules. Load cars and leave to drive in caravan to the retreat center. 1-hour drive.

  • 9:00am – Arrival/Welcome/Breakfast at the retreat center.

  • 9:00pm – Closing prayer and farewell. Load cars and leave to drive in caravan back to Holy Family. Parents driving only their own children would not need to drive back to Holy Family.

  • 10:15pm – Return to Holy Family. Pull cars up by the flag pole. Parents pick up their kids.

We want to provide a safe and fun way for our 6th through 8th grade kids to enjoy time together to grow closer as a community and to grow closer to God through his creation! We are carving out time from their usual routine to help make that happen. We have fun events planned for this retreat day Most of this day will be outside and will be following the CDC safety guidelines and best practices. When we are inside, participants will be required to wear their mask and be social distanced. When we are outside, kids will not be required to wear their masks unless they can't keep a safe distance.


Location: Camp Sunrise, 1427 Slate Mine Road SE, Fairmount, GA 30139 (1 hour away)

Transportation:

  • Parents can choose to drive their own children to the retreat center and pick them up at the retreat center at the designated times. Meet us by the flagpole to go up with us.

  • Or, Parents can give permission for their children to travel with one of our cleared drivers in their car. Participants using this option will be required to wear a mask the entire time they are in the car. Windows will be lowered. Participants will be sitting in normal seating arrangement with other participants in the car.

What to bring:

  • Mask

  • Appropriate swimwear

  • Towel

  • Closed-toeshoes (required), sandals/flip-flops (recommend for lakes)

  • Women’s/Girls’ Dress Code: Swimsuits should be one-piece. Loose-fitting fashions that reach at least halfway to the knee are appropriate. Low-cut tops (front or back) are not permitted.

  • Men’s/Boys Dress Code: T-shirts and knee-length shorts.
