The Rite of Christian Initiation is both the Process used by people who are interested in joining the Catholic Church, as well as the vehicle for practical Catholics to strengthen their own faith by sharing it and participating in the RCIA journey. It is a true journey because each  individual determines its course and length. For those interested in discerning about joining the Catholic Church from other faith traditions (as well as those who were Baptized Catholic, but never completed their sacraments of Initiation -Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation) the RCIA offers: the dynamics of a faith-sharing environment for your discernment; a non-threatening atmosphere to have questions answered; instruction in the Faith and spiritual growth; concise explanations on Church teachings and how to approach them; and materials to carry you through life. For those practical Catholics who become involved in RCIA as a team member, your faith will deepen and expand. Many levels of involvement are available.
