Holy Orders

Jesus Christ entrusted a mission to his apostles that will continue to be carried out in the church until the end of time. Holy Orders is the sacrament that confers this special apostolic ministry and mission that Jesus gave his apostles. In John 20: 21-23 Christ said "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me even so I send you." And when He said this he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."

Just as Jesus called and set apart the apostles to lead and minister to God's people, God continues to call men to serve his people in the ordained priesthood of Christ.

Holy Family has been blessed with a number of parishioners discerning about vocations, including Neil Herlihy (who was ordained into the priesthood on May 28 at Christ the King Cathedral) and Jonathon Hanten.
