First Holy Communion
“While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, “Take and eat, this is my body.” Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.”

Preparation for the Sacrament of First Communion is an entire family affair, involving parents and their children. First Communion Preparation begins with First Reconciliation, this is the first sacrament to complete before your child starts the preparation to receive First Communion.

Reminder! This year's practice time was changed to Saturday, April 13th, 2024 10:00am in the church.
After your child completes the 1st Reconciliation preparation and celebration, they are ready for 1st Communion preparation.
Preparation classes for at least one parent and child are held on Thursday evenings in January.
Classes are 6:00 pm until 7:30pm in the parish center.
Student Preparation
Preparation is offered to students age 7 and older. At the direction of the Archbishop, the following guidelines for First Eucharist preparation are necessary. These guidelines will help ensure thorough and appropriate preparation of your children for the sacraments:

Student must be baptized. A copy of their certificate needs to be submitted to the Faith Formation office. You can mail, email, or fax it in.

Student must be registered in parish.

Student must be registered in regular Faith Formation classes or attending a parochial school program
-
Student must have been enrolled in a parish Faith Formation program or parochial school program for at least one year prior to the current year and had at least 80% attendance.

Student must have already been prepared for and received their First Reconciliation
In addition to their regular religious education classes there are three special First Eucharist preparation classes that meet Thursday evenings in the winter. In the spring, we meet for the Banner Making night and the church rehearsals.
Parents/Guardian Participation
At least one parent/guardian of the children preparing for this sacrament will attend all three simultaneous Parent Preparation Sessions on Thursday evenings. Nursery or homework/activity room is available for siblings upon request.

Primera Comunión

La preparación para el Sacramento de la Primera Comunión es un asunto de toda la familia, en el que participan padres e hijos. La preparación para la Primera Comunión comienza con la Primera Reconciliación, este es el primer sacramento que debe completar antes de que su hijo comience la preparación para recibir la Primera Comunión.

¡Recordatorio! El horario de práctica de este año se cambió
al Sábado 13 de Abril de 2024 a las 10:00 a. m. en la Iglesia.

Además de sus clases regulares de educación religiosa, hay tres clases especiales de preparación para la Primera Eucaristía que se reúnen los jueves por la noche en invierno. Participación de padres / tutores
